If you choose to enter into an agreement with Great Yorkshire Chorus we will ask you to provide personally identifiable information, such as your e-mail address, name, address or telephone number.

We use this information in order to administer your choir membership or business relationship with us, to keep you up to date with our services, member opportunities, rehearsals and events. In so doing we are fulfilling a legitimate business interest.  If you do not become a member, or cease to be a member, we may use your information to remind you of our services, events and concerts.

  1. When you register for a choir taster session – retained for 90 days if you don’t become a member.

  3. If you take part in a choir member’s survey – retained only until the data has been compiled and summary results collated.

  4. Information provided when hiring the choir for performance – information dependent on agreement so includes but is not limited to:

    • Contact email
    • Contact telephone number
  5. Information provided when entering into a business agreement – information dependent on agreement so includes but is not limited to:
    • Contact name
    • Business address
    • Contact email
    • Contact telephone number

    • VAT registration

How long do we keep this Information about you? 

We keep your personal information for the length of time we need in order to manage and administer your choir membership or relationship with us.

  • 90 days if you attend a book a taster session but do not join the choir
  • 5 years after leaving the choir if you have been a choir member
  • 5 years if you have hired the choir or provided us a business service

If you don’t wish to give us personal information

Under the terms of Great Yorkshire Chorus choir membership, we may need to collect personal information about you. If you choose not to give us this personal information it will prevent Great Yorkshire Chorus from being able to meet its obligations. It may also mean that we are unable to perform services required to run your membership and may result in Great Yorkshire Chorus having to cancel your membership. Any data collection that is optional will be made clear at the time of collection.

Marketing

Great Yorkshire Chorus may use your personal data to inform you of other products or services available from Great Yorkshire Chorus. Great Yorkshire Chorus may also contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services.

Great Yorkshire Chorus does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties. Great Yorkshire Chorus may, from time to time, contact you about a particular offering, event, opportunity that may be of interest to you.

Do we share your information?

  • We will never give your data to third parties for that third party to use.
  • We use third party services (e.g. Dropbox, Mail Chimp, Googlemail) to store or process your data. We will always make sure that they are reputable and secure, and that your data is kept safe.

In order to provide a high level of service, we need to keep accurate personal data about you. We take reasonable steps to ensure the accuracy of any personal data or sensitive information we obtain. We ensure that the source of any personal data or sensitive information is clear and we carefully consider any challenges to the accuracy of the information. We also consider when it is necessary to update the information, such as name or address changes and you can help us by informing us of these changes when they occur.

  • Where data processing is based on consent, you may withdraw this consent at any time. You can do this by using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our marketing emails or newsletters, or you can write to us via post or email.
