The Great Yorkshire Chorus was founded in 2018 with the hope of fostering community, fun and friendship through the joy of singing. Fast forward a few years and we have certainly done that. The choir has thrived and we have made many wonderful memories together.

‘5 Years Together’ is the culmination of our journey so far; a snapshot of the songs which we love the most and have been a part of our collective story. This is our celebration of the first chapter of GYC; we look forward to many more!

Recording this album was the most amazing experience for us all. Our thanks to Ken, Jonathan, Mark and Paul and everyone who worked so hard to make it happen. We hope it will lift the spirits of everyone who listens and encourage others to find the joy of singing for themselves.

Maria Mullin, Director of GYC, September 2023
